Hello, and welcome to Degree Hackers! My name is Kimberly and I am a 23-year-old college graduate from Oklahoma. While this sounds normal enough, what sets me apart is that I’ve never sat in a single class in a school or college, ever. I was homeschooled, then I hacked my way out of college with no conventional classes.

When I graduated high school, I could not afford college, but I still wanted a degree. So I decided to hack my way through—and it really, actually, truly worked!! I graduated June 2019 with my Bachelor’s degree in English, the entire thing taking me a little under 3 years of study and costing about $8,000. Total.

For me, hacking college has been a super exciting and rewarding journey, not only of education, but also of self-growth and amazing life experiences! My vision behind Degree Hackers is to pass on what I have learned over the years to hopefully better equip you for the journey ahead (whether you’re already knee-deep or just thinking about it), and remind you that it’s not only real, but it’s possible. I’m no Einstein, but with hard work and perseverance—and a few crafty hacks—it worked! I’m living high and dry at 22 years old with a Bachelor’s degree and $0 in debt, two plus years of experience as a TESOL teacher already under my belt.

Like I said, this isn’t a niche thing for the top 1% of students. I’m just an average student, honestly. This is for homeschool students, high school students, young adults, college drop-outs, stay-at-home moms, full-time employees, travel nuts like me—need a degree? Hack it!
